Quora is a website where questions are asked and answered started at the initiative of Sharing knowledge and for better understanding of the world.
This Tech Giant was founded in June 2009, co-founded by Adam D’Angelo and Charlie Cheever, previously they both were working in Facebook, although it was made public in June 21 2010.
Years after years new features rolled down on the platform. Quora made an official app for itself and launched it in September 29, 2011, followed by the android app on September 5, 2012. In 2012, they launched an “Top Writer” program to recognise the top writers in their respective topics.
In 2013 they also launched a free blogging platform on the user profiles to let them add any informative content, further that year they introduced “stats” feature on the website which enables user to view their answers analytics more specifically.
In April 2014, Quora was valued around $900 million, further they rasied $80 million from Tiger Global. Year after years they launched the beta version of Quora in different languages like Spanish, French, German etc. In March 2016, they acquires Parlio, an online Question and Answer site founded by Wael Ghonim.
Quora started rolling out advertisements on testing bases in 2016. In 2017 the company raises $85 million at $1.8 billion valuation. Currently it has 190 million monthly visiters.
As there marketing strategy was quite good it has 36.3% visitors from United States, 20.2% from India, 5.5% from United Kingdom etc.
